HAYS, LONDON

‘Recruiting Experts Worldwide’ Campaign

ABOUT

Hays is a leading global specialist recruitment group, employing over 6,500 people worldwide and spanning 33 countries. It is the market leader in the UK, Germany and Australia,

Working out of its London head office, my role as senior copywriter was to deliver high-impact creative ideas and copy to support the in-house marketing team. In addition, I managed the global brand and tone-of-voice ensuring that all adverts and campaigns were delivered consistently and to a high-standard across all its regional markets.

THE WORK

My work included adverts, radio, digital campaigns, direct mail, brochures, industry magazines and opinion pieces such as Oxford Economics (a leader in global forecasting and work trends). All efforts centred around its cleverly crafted strap line and double entendre - ‘Recruiting Experts Worldwide’.

In addition, I was also responsible for in-house communications, helping to support Hays efforts to share ideas, knowledge and experience across its business and territories to deliver outstanding results and truly work as a global team with one vision - 50 Years Powering the World of Work.

Working for Hays was a new experience for me as I was deviating from the usual 'agency' path and working client-side, as well as adopting a more corporate, business-like tone of voice in my copy output. It was a very valuable and enjoyable experience as it allowed me to really stretch my writing capabilities.

Below is an example of a branding advert.

The rules of the game are changing rapidly as the world becomes smaller and talent more mobile. In this borderless hiring environment, understanding what matters most to employees is vital to attracting and retaining the right people. Moreover, skill shortages will mean the management of global talent pipelines will become even more pressing. That’s why it’s important to have the right recruiting partner in place who can help you plan and respond to these challenges and to maintain your competitive edge.
