SONY VAIO ‘Be Taken Seriously. Be Seriously Taken’

ABOUT

Heavenly is regarded as one of London's top branding agencies. In this role as a mid-weight copywriter my focus was on the Sony VAIO and Vodafone accounts, along with the launch of Meydan Dubai (a luxury racecourse and entertainment park), a new Nobu restaurant opening in Israel and a project for the popular TV show, The Apprentice.

THE WORK

My work on the Sony account centred around a product re-launch of their best selling laptop - VAIO - pitching it as a serious business machine. Previously it was regarded as a pretty laptop but without the speed, 'guts' and hard hitting tech-specs of other laptops in its category such as Toshiba and MacBookPro.

The launch was kicked off with a series of press adverts, an online campaign (banners, buttons, sky scrapers), Direct Mail, a Trade Magazine, Point Of Sale and other promotions.

Below is an example of the copy which I wrote for the Manifesto Advert.

New VAIO business laptops are serious business machines. But they’re also serious statements of intent. With the stamina of up to 7.5 hours battery life and an ultra-light carbon fibre body, this range performs and looks like no other. The enhanced accuracy of the floating key design and unique fingerprint recognition interface makes it an individual choice in more ways than one. And although it displays unmistakable VAIO genetics, the new range comes fully loaded for business with powerful Intel Centrino 2 Processor Technology. Get serious with new VAIO for business. Are you VAIO?
