Volkswagen New Beetle Christmas Campaign

Formerly TD&A DDB, DDB Dubai is one of the Gulf’s leading advertising agencies, winning countless awards on the creative circuit. In my role as a creative copywriter, I worked on a range of multi-national accounts in the pan-Arabic region.

Highlights included writing TVCs for Neutrogena and Sony Wega. I developed promotional radio spots for Volkswagen and Clean & Clear, and produced cross-media campaigns for Emirates Airlines (press, outdoor and radio). I also helped DDB win the pan-arabic Tropicana/Pepsi Co pitch, which I co-wrote and presented.

THE WORK

Leading up to the Christmas season, the creative brief for Volkswagen New Beetle was to create a fun and memorable advert that would stay in the minds of consumers. It might even prompt them into buying a Volkswagen Beetle for their true love. It’s Dubai after all.

The adverts featured in major UAE newspapers, magazines and outdoor. Creatively speaking, what could be more eye-catching than using the iconic and instantly recognisable ‘Beetle design’ to bring on that festive cheer.
