‘They say you don’t find the island, rather the island finds you. And we think you’ll agree when you visit the fabled shores of Baby Dragon Bar, a lost island paradise currently setting Newtown’s bar scene on fire.

Because Baby Dragon is more than just a bar. It’s a doorway to another world. A world where innovative cocktails are served up amongst lush waterfalls and ancient sakura trees, mystical island legends and tropical dreams come true.

Whatever your thirst desires our wizard mixologist can deliver. All devised and created in-house of course, our cocktails exude creativity, fun, flair and fire, recreating the bar’s island oasis theme.’

We wanted to showcase the fun, fantasy and fire of Baby Dragon Bar with inspiring posts, stories and reels on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Below are just two of our in-house directed, produced and edited videos for our socials. Our social media push also included regular Facebook advertising. Instagram grew from 1215 followers (2 August 2022) to 3450 followers (18 January 2023).

“It was my desire to create a serene space where you could escape the frantic world and enter another entirely. A time slip that takes you to a mythical island located somewhere on the Indian ocean.

For centuries this island has been visited by pirates and traders from all four corners, adding to its rich melting pot of culture, cuisine and crafted cocktails.

Over time the island has flourished thanks to the native inhabitants. Look around and you’ll discover their legacy - from the many rock carvings of their divine deities to the carefully tended sakura trees (that bloom in celebration whenever a dragon is born). And don’t forget to look out for the elusive baby dragons, who are always felt but rarely seen.

Got a wild hunger you can’t tame? Our incredible chef Juan ‘Johnny’ Neira who loves nothing more than to dance with flames, can satisfy your cravings with his fire-kissed menu of tasty bar bites. Using the finest herbs, spices and seasonings, he will tantalise your tastebuds in ways they’ve never been.
